Matthew Watson works as a senior account executive in the technology practice of Speed Communications. Launched in March 2009, Speed is a UK multi-sector PR consultancy that delivers assured impact for its clients in a changing media landscape. Formed by bringing together the teams of BMA Communications, Custard PR, Lighthouse PR, Mantra PR and Rainier PR it specialises in the consumer, technology, business and corporate sectors. Matthew joined Rainier PR in June 2008, a month before he graduated from The University of Huddersfield.

In 2008 Matthew took part in an online internship with marketing guru Seth Godin. The innovative internship saw him collaborate with nearly one hundred other marketing students from around the world on projects to promote the Squidoo.com knowledge sharing website.

In 2007 he carried out a four month work placement at Concept Communications, a public relations consultancy in Southport. During his placement Matthew worked with several clients ranging from Makro, to Barratt Homes.

Matthew studied Public Relations with Media at The University of Huddersfield. At University he was actively involved with the student newspaper, Huddersfield Student. He started a quirky cookery column, which he wrote in addition to a number of other articles, ranging from animal welfare to the launch of a new University initative.

Matthew built his first website aged 12 and has been blogging since June 2003. He started to write about his experiences at university and his thoughts on PR in June 2007.
